Nestled in the Franschhoek valley lies No.10, a luxurious yet welcoming family home. This gorgeous home is owned and has been decorated by a renowned international interior designer, who’s been featured numerous times in Andrew Martin’s iconic annual.
The owners, a jet-setting couple, were drawn to the house for its location, a 4-minute amble to the village (what a coup!) but far enough to be surrounded by rolling countryside and farmland. The sounds of birds and rustling leaves sunshine welcome’s you to every new day; so make a cup of tea in the country kitchen, fry up an English breakfast on the Larousse gas stove and make yourself comfortable in one of the two dining rooms.
When the weather is balmy, marvel at the mountains and vineyards, splash in the pool, light up the barbeque and say hello to the neighbouring farm’s friendly sheep. When chilly, snuggle indoors around one of the four fireplaces, have a little strum on the piano, lounge in the comfortable study or play raucous board games in the lounge.
No.10 is ideal for family reunions, large groups of friends who are looking for a charming country retreat or particular trips such as literary, culinary or golf tours.
Due to the airiness of the home, the four en-suite bedrooms allow for enough privacy and respite when needed.
This is very much a family home, it may have Lionel Smit’s dotted around and could have been rented out to well-known celebrities in the past, but it has the feel of a home that is meant to be enjoyed – the more the merrier.

The master bedroom is on its own private floor upstairs and has beautiful views. The additional bedroom (often used for two older children) leads off the master bedroom via an interleading door.
